- In 2009: Commissioned recording, and undertook full photographic survey and research.
- In 2020: Heritage Statement for LBC consent
We hired James in 2020 as our Heritage Consultant to help us develop plans and support our Listed Building Consent (LBC) application on a set of renovation plans for our 16th Century Grade II Manor House. James balanced perfectly the importance of maintaining the heritage integrity of the property with our desire to update to modern living standards. James was able to understand the modernisation we were seeking and where he felt specific changes were not in keeping with the historic features of the property, gently provide alternative and creative solutions that still met our needs while retaining heritage integrity. James was a consummate professional: always highly responsive, offering thoughtful advice and very timely with his main deliverable which was the heritage statement to support the overall LBC submission. Throughout the whole project, James’ expertise and passion for Heritage assets shone through. His detailed and intimate knowledge of the history of the house was both impressive and captivating. Ultimately, our application was approved first time. Not only are we very happy with the renovations, we have also started off on a very sound footing with the local Heritage office which bodes well for a constructive relationship on future projects. We have no hesitation in giving James our strongest endorsement.
